Memorising Novel Binary (Ones & Zeros) at 3 and 10 Bits per Second Binary is the simplest cleanest "test message" as it is easy to define the Bits, Second However for the average human, reading and remembering strings of Binary is not a common task. On the other hand Homo Sapiens has been a proud owner of a decimal counting aid for significant evolutionary time. The sequence at 10 Bits per Second is impossible for me, and probably most people, however there are people who can manage more than 3 Bits per Second. (See the World Records for memorising nearly a thousand binary digits)
