William EPWORTH (1683- )

1. William EPWORTH (also known as Willm EPWORTH), son of Thomas EPWORTH ( -1697) and Elizabeth ATKINSON ( - ), was born from 1 January 1683 to 14 October 1683. He was christened on 14 October 1683 in Misson, Nottinghamshire, England as a child. In 1713 he was a Labourer in Marriage cert. He married Bridget BROADHEAD on 12 November 1713 in Rotherham, South West Yorkshire, England.1

 

Bridget BROADHEAD,1 daughter of Nicholas BROADHEAD (1680- ) and Zephian NAYLOR ( - ), was born in Woodheads in parish of Anston, England.2 She experienced Own Ref: on 13 April 1680. On 10 September 1751 she was in Clayworth, Nottinghamshire., England. She died on 10 September 1751.1 She and William EPWORTH had the following children:

He married Hannah HINCHCLIFFE on 12 July 1807 in Sheffield.1 In 1808 he was a Freemason Cutler in Sheffield. In 1828 he was a "manufacturer of pen and pocket knives" in Sheffield.6 In 1839 he lived in Sheffield and Ecclesall Gaol. He appeared in the census on 6 June 1841 in Brightside Bierlow, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England aged 55.7 On 6 June 1841 he was a Publican & Cutler in Brightside Bierlow.7 In 1841 he was a Pen knife mfr. & Victualler. in Sheffield. He appeared in the census on 6 June 1841 in Brightside Bierlow aged 55.8 In 1841 he was a Pen & pocket knife manufacturer in Sheffield. In 1841 he was a Victualler at the Bridge Inn in Sheffield. In October 1842 he lived in Spitalfields. On 29 November 1842 he was a Bankrupt. In 1849 he was a Springknife Cutler in Sheffield. He appeared in the census on 30 March 1851 in Brightside Bierlow aged 55.9 In 1852 he was a Springknife Cutler in Sheffield. He died on 1 August 1860.1 He was buried in 1860 in Sheffield. In 1862 he was a Spring Knife manufacturer in Sheffield. His Monica Ref. was 'A24'.
